Heads of Missions commemorated the 20th anniversary of EU enlargement in Addis Ababa by planting a tree

The Heads of Missions of the European Union Member States residing in Addis Ababa jointly planted a tree and unveiled a commemorative plaque in the garden of the EU Delegation to Ethiopia. On 1 May 2004 ten new Member States joined the European Union. This was the most expansive enlargement in terms of both citizens and countries. Moreover, this expansion has enriched the common EU area with a very diverse national history and rich cultural traditions.

Our membership of the European Union was a historic success based on unambiguous national consensus. An unequivocal decision for which there was and is no alternative. We Hungarians have always belonged to Europe!
